Based on the 1893 Los Angeles City Directory which has Peter Marincovich in the residential section working at 322 N Main St, but has P Marinovich at the save address, and that (to me) Marinovich sounds more Croatian, I'm changing the 1893 link to be Marinovich

Confusing. There is no 609 N Hazard St now. Jumps from 601 to 611 (built in 1911. 709 built in 1921. Dates not immediately available for the others). Also I bit hard to imagine that there was a house there in 1896. FIXME—supporting docs. No Hazard listed on 1902 Rueger map
